Isomura Yauso is a ceramicist creating Seto Sometsuke (Blue-and-white⁄underglaze blue) porcelain works. He uses classical design motifs and patterns for decorating porcelain pieces he makes by slip casting or hand-throwing.

Biography

Started working as a potter

Travelled to France and Italy to study European ceramics industry

Had technical training in Korea

Travelled to China to study ceramics industry

Certified as First Class Skilled Potter by the Minister of Labour

Certified as Traditional Craftsperson by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry
